Astronomy and Astrophysics Are So Cool to Me
Since my very childhood, I have been amazed at the concepts of astrophysics and astronomy. The various chapters taught in school about space and the heroes who have mastered this form of science. Such as Galileo Galilie; which caught my attention. However, I found the entire topic to be very amusing and cool. In fact, I found these physics topics and maths so cool that I even thought of studying the subjects at a university level. However, moving on… Let me give you a gist of what the subjects are all about.
Both, Astronomy and Astrophysics directly relate to natural science. There are different research based studies made to make people understand these subjects. Beforehand, astronomy is the natural science of physics, chemistry. Which makes you know about celestial objects like stars, galaxies, planets, etc. It is duly involved in processes like supernovae explosions. Bursts of gamma ray bursts, are the part of non-optical astronomy.
In non-optical astronomy, it makes observatories function beyond the visible contributions to our Universe. It makes you know about the evolution of objects and processes. Before starting with astrophysics and astronomy, you should know the relation between them.
The difference between astrophysics and astronomy
First, Astrophysics is a sub-branch of astronomy. This is involving physics of cosmic objects and phenomena. Back to this topic, astrophysics is a term that is used to refer to that division of astronomy. That deals with the behavior, physical properties and processes of cosmic. As well as heavenly objects and phenomena; as it has the purpose of applying physics to make people understand astronomy. It is a division that deals with the physical processes that are linked to the celestial, cosmic bodies and the associated regions of space.
Second, Astronomy is a science that involves study of the universe. Which is far beyond the earth’s atmosphere. It is the science of measuring the positions. Also, to characterize the heavenly bodies. It has many divisions such as astrometry, cosmic mechanics, and astrophysics. Nonetheless, these are all subjects based on the understanding and application of physics. These two terms are more or less interrelated, since all astronomers use physics to find things.
However, astrophysics is to analyze data related to astrophysical observation astronomy. This includes radio, infrared, optical, ultraviolet, x-ray, gamma-ray. Observational andtheoretical are the two types. Howbeit, this is a subject for passionate people. To be very honest in childhood, I never thought it can be so interesting subject one can ever know. The names of the stars; or constellations is what fascinates me most in this subject. Things got more beautiful and interesting as I grew up. Especially when I realized that I am a part of this very Universe. Everything is a part of this Universe. Including astronomy.
This subject keeps me engaging and lets me continue with the study
To be very frank, these two subjects are not as useful to a regular man; as these are to someone who actually studies these. Astrophysics is a subject related to eternity. I get to know about the Universe while studying this subject. And there is no end to learning whatsoever.
This is a subject not for those who are very much practical and thinks about getting an answer to every question. This is a subject with a long span with no change. But every day discovering new things…
This is a subject involving people in astronomy
Be that as it may, Astronomy is a space science that has been living, ever since the human being came into existence. As well as with no limited future. This not a subject for money-making. This is a research based subject in need of tons of knowledge and applications; and is directly linked with generating technology.
This subject has been helping us in innovating and expanding new ways to develop in our society. Radio astronomy has set an excellent example in communication tools, devices, and data processing methods. The satellites of Global Positioning System depends upon astronomical objects. Such as quasars as well as other galaxies that help to determine positions. Or the most used communication application would be like WLAN. It is one of the best tools to stimulate young brains.
Both astronomy and astrophysics are very interesting topics for sure; if you really have a knack to go deep into the subjects. If dealt with passion and interest, these subjects can be magical to ones entire being.
